  2. By Air: You can take a flight to Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal and reach Sikkim by air. Although there is no major railway station in the state, you can also take the Salguri or Jalpaiguri train to reach Sikkim by rail. Pakyong Airport is the only airport serving Sikkim.

The nearest railway stations to Sikkim are Jalpaiguri (187 km) and Siliguri (146 km), which are well connected to major cities like Kolkata, Guwahati, Delhi and Mumbai. There are some trains that run from Kolkata to Jalpaiguri, which is 593 km away.

Scheme Nationalized Transport (SNT) runs from the bus terminal in Siliguri between Siliguri and Gangtok. Sikkim is well connected to Siliguri. A gateway to Northeast India via National Highway 31.
