Common Agricultural Policy • Fundaments of CAP in 1950s Western Europe • Based on family farm concept • It aimed at encouraging • better productivity • fair standard of living to farmers • market stabilization • ensuring the availability of food supplies to EU consumers at reasonable price. • By the 1980s the EU had to contend with permanent surpluses of farm commodities.

ERASMUS + • New EU programme for education, training, youth and sport under discussion by the Council and the European Parliament • Overall mobility opportunities for 5 million people • Overall budget 16 bill. €/7 years • Erasmus+ will be open to all EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, EU candidate countries
