  20. A graph is a collection of vertices and edges. We model the abstraction as a combination of three data types: Vertex, Edge, and Graph. A Vertex is a lightweight object that stores an arbitrary element provided by the user (e.g., an airport code) We assume it supports a method, element(), to retrieve the stored element. DFS and Maze Traversal • The DFS algorithm is similar to a classic strategy for exploring a maze • We mark each intersection, corner and dead end (vertex) visited • We mark each corridor (edge ) traversed • We keep track of the path back to the entrance (start vertex) by means of a rope (recursion stack) Depth-First Search
