Distinguished Achievement Plan Credits Needed: • 4 English / 4 Math / 4 Science • 3.5 Social Studies / .5 Economics • 3 Foreign Language • 1 Fine Arts / .5 Speech • 1 P.E. • 4.5 Electives TOTAL: 26 Credits PLUS: Students must also complete 4 advanced measures such as AP Exams, College Courses, National Merit Recognition, etc.
Pre-AP / AP • Classes designed to challenge motivated students and prepare them for college level course work. • Move at a faster pace with a great amount of reading. • Plan for at least 1 hour of study time per class/per day for each course. • Are you interested in a particular subject? • Do you excel in a particular subject? • Students may choose to take one or all of their core classes as Pre-AP. • Consider time commitment when choosing Pre-AP classes.

Career Pathway • All students must select one • The chosen pathway is not binding – you may change it • Each student must complete the four-year plan and indicate their chosen pathway in the indicated box • Use the CTE Course Catalog to make your Pathway choice
CTE Notes • No new classes for 2013-2014 • If approval required for class – you are not guaranteed the course – additional paperwork may need to be completed • Check prerequisites • Don’t sign up for a course you do not know anything about – ask your friends, someone in the course, or your counselor before signing up
Late Arrival / Early Release • Only juniors and seniors may select • A student may have only one not both • Permitted only if student is in good credit standing • Credit status will be checked by the student’s counselor • Forms are available in the Counseling office
Campus Aides • All Library, Clinic, and KORC aides must have prior approval before selection • Counselor aides may select this option – an application and interview is required – if not approved one of the student’s alternative courses will be selected • Office aides may select this option – an application is required – if not approved one of the student’s alternative courses will be selected • Applications are available in the Counseling Center and Attendance Office
Course Selections Please use your transcript, completed Four Year Plan with Career Pathway, Course Selection Guide, CTE Catalog to complete your Course Request Sheet. You will be inputting your selections into Gradespeed during your English class. - Incoming Seniors - February 19th - Incoming Juniors - February 20th - Incoming Sophomores - February 21st REMEMBER: The deadline for elective schedule changes is FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 2013.
