  2. Intended Results • Receive instructions for and have a clear understanding of the CWT Software installation process. • PC / MAC • Palm • Orientation of CWT Palm / Desktop Applications. • Introduction to Desktop Reporting Options • CWT Website • Determine next steps

  3. Installation of CWT Software • Before installing the CWT software, please make sure that you have completed the following: • Setup your Palm with your User ID. • Use the CD provided by Palm • “Software Installation CD” • Perform a hot sync with your computer. • (If there are any problems with the installation, • this will ensure your personal information will not • be lost.)

  4. Installation of CWT Software Click ‘Next’

  5. Installation of CWT Software To install to a different directory, click ‘Browse’ and select another directory. To install in the pre-selected directory, click ‘Next’

  7. Installation of CWT Software Click on the Mobile Application Setup tab. Click Install. Click ‘OK’

  8. Installation of CWT Software You will be reminded to perform a HotSync. Press the Star or HotSync icon on your Palm. When the Hot Sync operation is completed, the next screen will appear:

  9. Installation of CWT Software Click ‘Close’ You have now successfully installed the CWT Software!

  10. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Tap the CWT icon to begin.

  11. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Tap the ‘BEGIN’ button.

  12. CWT Palm / Desktop Application • This error message will appear the first time you use the CWT software. • You will need to create a Teacher’s List on the Desktop Application to continue.

  13. CWT Palm / Desktop Application This is the first screen you will see when you open the desktop application. * Please note: you must add subjects before teachers can be added. Click on the ‘Subjects’ tab to begin.

  14. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select a subject group from the drop box Click ‘New’

  15. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Enter Subject Name, even if it is the same as the group name. Click ‘OK’

  16. CWT Palm / Desktop Application The subject names you have entered will appear under the subject groups. Now click on the ‘Teachers’ tab.

  17. CWT Palm / Desktop Application To add a new teacher, click ‘New’

  18. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Enter the teacher’s first & last name, then select which grades and subjects he or she teaches. * You can select more than one grade / subject by holding down the ‘Control’ button on your keyboard.

  19. You can now transfer the teachers you have entered on the CWT Desktop Application to your Palm. Press the Hot Sync button on your Palm or Palm Cradle.. Now when you tap “BEGIN’ you can select a teacher.

  20. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select a Teacher and tap the ‘Next’ button

  21. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select a grade and tap the ‘Next’ button

  22. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select a subject and tap the ‘Next’ button

  23. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Now select the date and tap the‘Next’ button

  24. CWT Palm / Desktop Application This screen confirms the information you have just entered. Tap the ‘START’ button to begin the CWT or tap ‘Back’ to change the information.

  25. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Onceyou begin the CWT, a four (4) minute timer starts. Highlight a topic to begin, then tap the ‘Next’ button.

  26. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ for each category. This portion of the CWT is now complete. To return to the main page tap the ‘Category’ button.

  27. CWT Palm / Desktop Application To continue, highlight another topic, then tap the ‘Next’ button.

  28. CWT Palm / Desktop Application You may be unable to complete this portion of the CWT while in the classroom. If necessary, you can leave this category blank and return to it later after reviewing the standards. To return to the main page tap the ‘Category’ button.

  29. CWT Palm / Desktop Application To continue, highlight another topic, then tap the ‘Next’ button.

  30. CWT Palm / Desktop Application This screen allows you to select different levels of the taxonomy that you viewed during your CWT. Note the L ‘Low’ – M ‘Middle’ – H ‘High’ distinctions. You may choose to see the definition of any level by tapping on the ‘?’ located to the left of each topic.

  32. CWT Palm / Desktop Application By selecting the ‘examples’ button, you may review the different levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.

  33. CWT Palm / Desktop Application You may navigate through the different levels by tapping the ’>’ or ‘<‘ buttons.

  34. CWT Palm / Desktop Application To continue, highlight another topic, then tap the ‘Next’ button.

  35. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ for each category. You may be unable to complete portions of this Category while in the classroom. If necessary, you can leave any item blank and return to it later after reviewing the standards. To return to the main page tap the ‘Category’ button.

  37. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select the Instructional Strategies noted during CWT; 1-9 are the ‘High Yield Strategies’ You may navigate through additional strategies by tapping on the alphabetized buttons located below the questions.

  38. CWT Palm / Desktop Application These are the additional Instructional Strategies provided by tapping on the alphabetized buttons located below the questions.

  39. CWT Palm / Desktop Application This is the last page of Instructional Strategies. To return to the main page tap the ‘Category’ button.

  40. CWT Palm / Desktop Application To continue, highlight another topic, then tap the ‘Next’ button.

  41. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select the appropriate category by tapping the corresponding box. You may see the definition of any behavior by tapping on the ‘?’ located to the left of each topic.

  43. CWT Palm / Desktop Application *NOTE* The software will remind you when you have been in the classroom for three (3) minutes. The timer automatically stops at four (4) minutes.

  47. CWT Palm / Desktop Application Select the area of Reflective Focus by tapping the ‘>’ button to the right of the category.

  48. CWT Palm / Desktop Application This screen will confirm whether or not you will provide a Take-Away Prompt. If you select ‘No’ you will return to the previous page. If you select’ Yes’, you will be provided with four (4) examples.

  50. CWT Palm / Desktop Application If you wish to stop at any time during the CWT, you may tap the ‘Complete’ button and this screen will appear. You may choose to finish the Walk-Through and save the changes, or You may tap the ‘No’ button to return to the previous screen
