2012 MC Grids for Photon+MET Analyses • Diphoton + MET • Photon + lepton + MET • Photon + bjet + MET • Photon + Njets + MET • June 21 2012 SUSY/EtMiss meeting • Bruce Schumm, UC Santa Cruz • For the + MET groups
Dipohoton + MET: 2011 Results • My estimate of improve-ment in reach • + 10-15% from 7 8 TeV • + 10-15% for 20 fb-1 • from brainy new ideas 25% overal increase?
2011 Grids • 2-d Gluino vs Bino grid • Gluino masses: • 800, 850, 900, 950, 1000, 1050, 1100, 1200 • Bino masses: • 50, 100, 150, 300, 450, … , mgl – 20, mgl – 10 – 79 points total – 5000 events per point • 2-d Squark vs Bino grid • Same basic structure of points as above 2012 Grids Cover 1100-1500 (?); slightly more points ~200 points overall for the “GGM” grids
New for 2012: Electroweak Grid 2011 Limit EW production Strong production Will propose Wino/Bino grid once we understand reach and needed coverage (Based on consultation with David Shih) Another ~100 point grid
+ bjet + MET Motivation and Search • One photon, ET > 125 GeV • MET > 150 GeV • 2 ET > 50 jets, one b-tagged • min > 0.4 • MT(,MET) > 100 GeV • Lepton veto Shih, Ruderman
Photon + Bjet + MET Existing grid ~50 points Working towards ICHEP result with 2011 data “Boundary” analysis (pure bino, pure photino) becoming better; motivation waning May or may not do 2012 analysis (?) 01 is admixture of Bino and Higgsino
Photon + Lepton + MET • Words from Jovan, who has been on vacation: • As far as the lepton+photon analysis goes, I can imagine one of two scenarios: • The 2011 analysis becomes just a conf note, in which case we would want to redo the analysis fairly quickly. We would need to get production grid submitted fairly soon. • 2) The 2011 analysis goes for a paper, in which case probably an update would not be needed till we have the full data set. In that case I would probably look at a different (yet to be determined) signature in the near term, but after the paper. Jovan • Grid has full Mwino coverage for • 200 < Mgluino < 800 GeV and • then Mgluino < 400 GeV for • Mwino < 1500 GeV • ~ 50 points
Photon + Njets + MET This analysis is *probably* going to get underway between La Plata (lead) and UC Santa Cruz No thought yet about grids (?)
