Idioms • Idioms are words that mean completely what they say. • Say, “Piece of cake,” it shows that you don’t really have a piece of cake but that it was easy. • Idioms are saying that are used to make a book or anything you read funner. • Most of the time authors use idioms to grasp the or make the reader think about the passage.

  3. Who’s Better than Who?? • Most authors use similes a lot more than idioms in a passage. • The reason I think they do this is because there aren’t very many idioms that connect to the story or passage.

  4. Extra’s for Similes • Similes are words kind of like synonyms. They show who words are literal. • Similes could be like, “Slick as a snake,” or “Small as a carrot.” • A lot of books use similes to interest the reader.
