  2. Analogous Color • Analogous colors are groups of colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel, with one being the dominant color, which tends to be a primary or secondary color, and two on either side complimenting. In this photograph, my make-up shades consists of Analogous Colors because the colors are adjacent from each other.

  3. Complimentary Color • Complementary colors are pairs of colors that are of “opposite” hue in some color model. The exact hue “complementary” to a given hue depends on the model in question, and perceptually uniform, additive, and subtractive color models, for example, have differing complements for any given color. In this photograph, the opposite hues are Pink and Red. The color Pink and Red are in the same color model.

  4. Monochromatic Color • Monochromatic colors are all the colors (tints, tones, and shades) of a single hue. In this photograph, the same single hue that is being used is the color Pink.

  5. Gradient Color Gradient refers to a function in graphic software permitting a person to make an image contain a gradual change of colors (such as purple turning gradually into blues and then greens). In this photograph, my lip gloss reflects two different colors. On the top part of my lip gloss, it is dark Pink, while the bottom part of my lip gloss is light Pink.

  6. Contrast • A principle of art, contrast refers to the arrangement of opposite elements (light vs. dark colors, rough vs. smooth textures, large vs. small shapes, etc.) in a piece so as to create visual interest, excitement and drama. In this photograph, the Contrast is shown within the Black and White effect. My Blush Palette is black, while the outer rims are White.

  7. Warm Color • In the visual arts, color theory is a body of practical guidance to color mixing and the visual impacts of specific color combinations. Usually, the warm colors in art are known to be: Red, Oranges, or Yellows. In this photograph, the warm color is Red. The Red is leading to a soft Pink color.

  8. Cool Color • Cool Colors are mostly bluish or greenish color; tends to be seen further away from the eye than warm colors. In this photograph, the bluish color is shown in the water, the water where my puppy is swimming in.

  9. Saturated Color • Saturated colors are bright hues. In this photograph, the bright hues are created because of the lighting.

  10. Unsaturated Color • Saturated colors are not bright hues. In this photograph, there are no bright hues; all the colors are light and simple.
