  2. 中国863计划简介China’s 863 Program • 1986年3月由四位著名科学家建议,邓小平亲自批准建立,至今已经21年 863 Programme was proposed by 4 senior Scientists and approved by Mr. Deng Xiaoping in March 1986, 22 years history • 是国家科技计划之一 One of the most important national science and technology research programmes • 目前进行的是“十一五”863计划 Current one is the 863 programme in the 11th five-year plan

  3. 863计划的宗旨 Principles of the 863 programme • 解决国家发展急需的重大关键技术问题 Solving grand challenges & key technological problems faced by nation’s development • 强调创新性、前沿性、前瞻性,面向未来5到10年 Emphasizing innovative, frontier and foreseeing research, oriented to 5-10 years ahead • 提倡产学研结合,加快技术转移,支撑产业发展 Encourage cooperation between industrial, educational and research organizations, speeding up technology transfer, supporting development of nation’s industry

  4. 863信息技术领域简介Brief introduction to 863 IT Area • 信息技术是863计划10个领域之一 Information Technology (IT) is one of 10 areas of the 863 programme • 863计划分为专题和项目,专题侧重探索较为长远的未来技术,项目侧重重大系统和关键技术 863 Programme consists of two tracks: thematic and project Thematic programme focuses on longer-term technologies, project programme is more mission-oriented and addresses strategic technologies • 不同层次的课题 Different levels of projects • 专题分为探索导向类和目标导向类 Thematic:exploration-oriented and object-oriented • 项目分为重点和重大项目 • Projects:major and key projects • 信息技术分4个专题 IT area consists of 4 themes • 智能感知与先进计算 Advanced computing • 自组织网络与通信 Network and communication • 虚拟现实 Virtual reality • 信息安全 Information security

  9. 863高性能计算重点项目863 key projects in HPC • 1999-2000:国家高性能计算环境 1999-2000: National High Performance Computing Environment (NHPCE) • 2002-2005:高性能计算机及其核心软件 2002-present: High Performance Computer and Core Software • 建立了中国国家网格 Established CNGrid • 8个结点 8 sites • 聚合计算能力18万亿次 computing power 18TFlops • 存储能力大于200TB >200TB storage

  10. 重大项目:“高效能计算机及网格服务环境”Key project “High Performance computer and Grid service environment” • 根据国家中长期科技发展规划纲要而设立 follow up the national mid&long term S&T development plan • 项目周期:2006年-2010年 Period: 2006-2010 • 项目经费:国拨经费6.4亿 Government funding: 640 million RMB • 是十五“高性能计算机及其核心软件”重大专项的继续 Continuation of the former key project “High performance computer and core software”

  11. 重大项目目标Objectives of the key project • 研制成功千万亿次高效能计算机 Developing PetaFlops high productivity computer • 突破资源共享、协同工作、虚拟化等网格关键技术,建设中国国家网格 Breakthrough in key grid technologies such as resource sharing, cooperative work, and virtualization, building up the China National Grid • 10-12网格节点 10-12 Grid sites • 聚合计算能力300万亿次以上浮点运算 300TFlops aggregative computing power • 1PB以上存储能力 >1PB storage

  12. 重大项目目标 • 研发一套网格软件,支撑环境运行和应用 Developing a set of grid software, supporting operation of the environment and the applications • 研发一批网格应用和高性能计算应用 Developing grid and HPC applications • 资源环境、科学研究、制造业、服务业 Resource & environment, research, manufacturing, services

  13. 重大项目任务:高效能计算机Task: High productivity computer • 分两期实施 Two-phase implementation • 一期在2008年底前研制两台百万亿次系统 Two 100TF systems by the end of 2008 • 二期根据需求,研制千万亿次系统 Developing 1PF system according to the application requirement

  15. 重大项目任务:研制网格软件Task: Grid software • 研制成功支持资源共享、协同工作的网格软件 Developing grid software supporting resource sharing and cooperative work • 在网格关键技术取得突破 Progress in key technologies • 服务化 services • 虚拟化 virtualization • 网格工作流与协同工作 grid workflow and cooperative work • 数据网格 data grid • 网格安全 grid security • 网格管理 grid management • 在中国国家网格部署并得到应用 Deployment in CNGrid

  16. 重大项目任务:网格服务环境Task: Grid service environment • 继续建设中国国家网格 Continuous extension of CNGrid • 节点数量从8个增加到12个 Increase sites from 8 to 10 • 目前10个节点 currently 10 sites • 网格资源大幅度提升 Significant upgrading of resources • 300TF computing power, 1PB storage • 加强环境的运行管理 Improving environment management • 加强中国国家网格运行管理中心 strengthen CNGrid Operation center • 制定管理办法和规范 set up regulations • 使中国国家网格成为支撑各类应用的基础设施 Making CNGrid an infrastructure supporting various applications

  17. 重大项目任务:网格应用Task: Grid applications • 开发若干重要行业,研发支撑关键业务的网格应用系统 Developing key applications in important areas • 气象预报、科学数据、铁路运输、新药发现、计算化学、天文学、水利信息、中医药数据库等 weather forecasting, scientific data grid, railway information system, new drug discovery, computational chemistry, astronomy, water resources, Chinese medicine • 体现对网格技术的示范作用 Demo of the technologies • 实现生产性运行 achieving productive operation • 为行业信息化应用探索新的道路 Exploration of new approach of informatization

  20. 国际合作 International cooperation • 继续鼓励中国科学家参加欧盟第七框架计划项目的研究工作 • Continuously encourage Chinese scientists to participate in research of EU FP7 projects • 寻求在中欧政府层面规划合作,针对双方共同感兴趣的方向,共同支持研究工作 • Look for government level coordination between China and EU, identify research direction with mutual interests, jointly support research work • 愿意与欧盟信息总司进一步密切合作 • Willing to strengthen cooperative relationship with EC Information Society & Media Directorate-General
