Topic 3 – Indian Fashion • Varies from village to village • Vibrant in colors • Bold colors from inventive drapes • India Sari – Traditional clothing for women • No stitching • All sewing
Indian Fashion • A piece of clothing that raps around your body and it can vary in size. • Mehndi is a temporary skin decoration.
Topic 4 – Sports in India • Chess, Snakes, Ladders, Playing Cards, Polo, Karate • Further modernized in other countries • These games have something to do with today's Olympic games • Hockey is the national sport • Baseball with sticks instead of bats.
Sports in India • Anju Bobby George was a Olympic long jumper • She won a bronze medal
Indian Art • First Harrappan • Vishnu and Shiva had some of the same ideas • Earliest man creations were made of clay • Dating back well over 10,000 years • Very popular in the early ages
Topic 7 – The Caste System • Status of people • For centuries the caste – less were denied access to temples, water, and other civil amenities
