1.4 Categorical vs. Numerical Data • Categorical Data- Information about categories. Examples: What is your favorite kind of soda? What kind of pets do you have? What is your favorite basketball team?

Homework Review • Choose your favorite survey question from last night’s homework. If you did not complete the homework, make up a survey question. • Based on the definitions and examples in class, decide if your survey question will collect categorical or numerical data.
1.4 Categorical vs. Numerical Data We will share our survey ideas. Write a N for “numerical” on your whiteboard if you think we are collecting numerical data. Write a C for “categorical” if you think we are collecting categorical data.
