Associative memory • The associative memory can organize things by establishing logical relationships between them in order to easily remember these things.
Activity IDivide the class into two groups. The first group will memorize the objects in no particular order. The second group will memorize them considering their similarities.
You can also memorize things by using the technique of the comic strip which consists of including in a story the contents to be memorized. The more absurd the story is, the better you can remember it.
Activity IIIWrite a story using the following words in the order in which they appear. Then, memorize the story.
Using the story you wrote and once memorized, fill in the boxes following the order in which the words appeared.
Activity IVMemorizing by using acrostics is another mnemonic technique.Acrostic: series of lines or verses in which the first, the last, or any other particular letters, when taken in order, spell out a word, a phrase, etc. • Check acrostic with the following words: • Parts of the eye: cornea, iris, pupil, lens, sclera, conjunctiva, choroid, optic nerve. • Leg bones: hip, femur, tibia, fibula, foot. • American countries: Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama. • Climates of Europe: Arctic Continental, Atlantic, Mediterranean, subtropical Mountain.
