Redevelopment - Stonegate Ramco-Gershenson has a portfolio of 57 centers, over half of which are supermarket anchored, consisting of approximately 11.7 million square feet of gross leasable area. Private redevelopment initiatives: • Developer addressed BMA • Tightest retail market in many years • Land assembly (options) underway • Wal-Mart closed in October 2001 Public involvement: • Tax increment financing (TIF) • Fairview Avenue improvements • Possible water/sewer improvements

A proven model, it provides entrepreneurs with the expertise, networks and tools they need to make their ventures successful. Sports Tourism Activity: • Schumacher Study • AAU National Tournaments • Increased opportunities with existing facilities: volleyball, martial arts, girls basketball, fast/slow pitch softball “Schumacher said Kingsport's biggest asset for sports tourism purposes is the city's reputation among sports organizations across the nation - a fact he credited to the KCVB.” “The Jaguars' head coach concluded, "we've been to five national tournaments and this is the best news coverage, best sites and the best tournament we've played in, by far. The people are so nice and accommodating here. You wouldn't believe how we've been treated in some national tournaments. It's all together different here.''
