Sky Test Preperation By Dr. Harold Williams of Montgomery College Planetarium http://montgomerycollege.edu/Departments/planet/
If you could see stars during the day, this is what the sky would look like at noon on a given day. This is actually possible during a solar eclipse. The Sun is near the stars of the constellation Gemini. Near which constellation would you expect the Sun to be located at sunset? A. Leo, B. Cancer, C. Gemini, D. Taurus, E. Pisces
Some questions to help you think further about the previous question and whether your answer is correct, or whether your answer needs to be changed. • How long does it take to go from midday, noon, to sun down approximately? Number of hours? • How long does it take the sun to move along the ecliptic from one constellation to the next along the ecliptic? Number of hours, days, months, or years? • How long does it take the sun to go once around the ecliptic? Don’t we have a special name for this time period.
