  16. Hook and Thesis Good morning! My name is __________________ and I am currently a fourth year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Or rather, a 9th grade student at Da Vinci School of Science. As you can probably tell, I’m a massive Harry Potter fan. In fact, I love Harry Potter SO MUCH that I often compare my real life experiences to the adventures told about in the books. In the same way that Harry felt a bit overwhelmed during his first year at Hogwarts, I kind of felt the same way when I came to Da Vinci. I wasn’t used to so many projects and so much personal responsibility. But, in the same way Harry discovered his strengths and how much he appreciated Hogwarts, I’ve discovered my strengths and I’ve been realizing more and more how much I love Da Vinci and our unique style of learning. By looking at my evidence log in Physics, my novella in English, and my isometric sketches in Engineering, it is evident that I have used the habits of leadership and accountability to improve my mastery of this semesters content and how helping others and continuously focusing on my own improvement have prepared me for sophomore year at Da Vinci.

  17. Hook and Thesis Breakdown (HOOK )Good morning! (Connecting Sentence) In the same way that Harry felt a bit overwhelmed during his first year at Hogwarts, I kind of felt the same way when I came to Da Vinci. I wasn’t used to so many projects and so much personal responsibility. But, in the same way Harry discovered his strengths and how much he appreciated Hogwarts, I’ve discovered my strengths and I’ve been realizing more and more how much I love Da Vinci and our unique style of learning. (Thesis) By looking at my evidence log in Physics, my novella in English, and my isometric sketches in Engineering, it is evident that I have used the habits of leadership and accountability to improve my mastery of this semesters content and (this is important because) how helping others and continuously focusing on my own improvement have prepared me for sophomore year at Da Vinci.
