October Caseload Count for Title I-D, Subpart 2 Russ Sweet November 15, 2011
What’s New this Year? • Count will be taken via Survey Monkey • Institution ID numbers will be requested for Districts • Institution ID numbers are being requested of facilities this year. We are moving toward requiring them in the future
What is the purpose of the count? • The count determines 2012-13 funding allocations for districts with facilities for: • Neglected children (these funds come to districts as additional dollars in the Title I-A allocation) • Delinquent children (these funds come to districts through a Title I-D, Subpart 2 allocation)
When is the Official Collection Period? • The count officially opens November 17, 2011 • The count officially closes December 16, 2011
If we don’t complete the count during the specified time, may we submit it later? • Unfortunately, the answer is “No.” The count is submitted to the US Department of Education as final. Once it has been submitted, the USED uses the count in determining Oregon’s federal allocation. The state is not permitted to amend these counts and request any additional funds at a later date. Every effort is made to contact districts to ensure the count is completed on time.
