Theory • Explanation of a natural phenomenon • Based on many observations and experiments over time • Not testable • So you can’t disprove it…. • But you may be able to argue against it
Theories Still subject to new experimentation May be modified Considered successful if they can be used to make predictions that are true.
Scientific Law • Newton’s law of gravity • A relationship in nature that is supported by many experiments • Testable • Consistent test results
