The Company • Established 1969 • 89 Employees • 2500m² purpose built factory • Sales 2013 > £10.4 million (>€12.5m) • Assemble approx 25000 circuits p.a. • Limited range of hardware platforms • Acquired by Digi-Star Holdings LLC November 2012
RDS Factory – Opened 2001 Location
Market Sectors • Construction • Agricultural • Forestry equipment • Quarry/Mining • Recycling • Ground care • Rail
What we do In summary: ‘RDS Designs and Manufactures Electronic Control and Monitoring Systems for the Mobile Machinery Industry’
Wizard AC100 Plus & Lite The Wizard AC 100 is a simple monitor & controller for the modern seed applicator. • Motor Speed - Control of the metering motor proportional to forward speed to monitor the programmed application rate • Fan Monitor & Control - Monitor/control the pneumatic fans used for the seed distribution • Speed and Level - The wizard also displays forward speed and low hopper alarm • Data - Records area (2 independently resettable area registers) • Sensors - Radar or GPS Forward Speed measurement • Alarms - Instant alarms for any faults within the system – Faulty motor, Faulty fan, Broken shaft/drive belt
MAC 8000i Features The MAC8000 can be used instead of the Wizard instrument and be configured for single or multi-channel applicator control. • One instrument - instead of 2/3 for monitoring/control of multiply applicators fitted to 1 implement. • Distribution Options – choice of electric, hydraulic or spinner outputs to distribute seed/fertiliser/pellets. • Integrated SD card reader – allows basic data logging to produce field records. Prints in text or csv format for uploading directly into a spreadsheet or yield map proprietary software packages. • Precision Farming capability – add an RDS GPS16 receiver and load pre-defined seeding plan via SD card for automated variable seed/fert application • Printer option – useful for contractors to produce field records
I already have a Radar Sensor, can I use that? • Can I use my GPS?
Precision Farming - What can it do? • Apply seed/fertiliser from an application map • Record seed application for traceability and yield improvements • Print out paper records • Output data to SD card for invoicing and farm records • Apply seed/product via a message from a third party instrument

What do I need? SD Card Must be smaller than 2GB GPS RDS Part Number - P/GPS16
Precision Farming Option 1 – Job saved to SD Card
Precision Farming (ERIS) Option 2 - Soyl Opti sends rate to PSi RS232
Precision Farming The system can receive an application rate from a third party controller such as a John Deere Greenstar, Raven or Trimble RS232
It does not Power on? • Check the Power Cable and the Fuse • Locate the Fuse, should be in the battery box • Is the Cable between the Tractor and the Implement in tact?
The Forward Speed is Incorrect? • Measure out 100m in the field • Lower implement in to the ground • Start ‘AutoCal’ procedure (Page 17)
The Area shown is incorrect? • Check that the Forward Speed is Correct • Check that the Width is Correct
I have used the wrong amount of seed? • Check that the Forward Speed is Correct • Check that the Width is Correct • Repeat the Calibration Test
The Area shown is incorrect? • Check that the Forward Speed is Correct • Check that the Width is Correct
