  3. Norwegian companies taken over by international majors (Geco, Geoteam, Inside Reality, Petrel, Voxelvision, etc) • Seismic: key tool for exploration and reservoir description (3D, 4D, 4C)

  4. ”New” technologies emerging: • EM, Vizualisation systems, prestack-data usage, LOFS/4D, Rock Physics • Integration Ongoing co-operation initiatives: • Diskos • Force/OG21

  5. Gap Analysis • Challenges: Gas chimneys, Basalt, Complex waterbottom topography and/or overburden, Anisotropy, Salt, Stratigraphic traps, Carbonates, Sand Injectites, Gas Hydrates, Heavy Oil, etc • Technologies: Positioning/Sampling; Longer offsets, Imaging; Elastic Recording, Processing and Interpretation (4C, LFP) • Workstations: Intelligent Autotracking; Classification; Fault tracking and Handling; Data-handling/access, User-friendly, Standard platforms, AVO:Multicubes  prestack • Data access: field- and prestack data

  6. Future focus: • Improved Lithology and Fluid Prediction (LFP) using full elastic wave field (4C, EM) • Depth Processing for imaging of complex areas. • 3D visualization techniques and user-friendly interpretation tool-kits
