THE CATCHER IN THE RYE. Presented by Anique van Gorp Grade 9
UNIT QUESTION • What does it mean to grow up? 1. Responsibility • Keeping a job • Taking care for yourself and your family • Paying your own bills 2. Mentally growing up • You want to learn more about things • You care more about yourself and others
3. Physically growing up • Becoming taller • More hair • Broader shoulders As you grow up, you step in a new world. You discover more about stuff you didn’t even know you could do and you learn more about yourself. I think that is the most beautiful thing of growing up.

QUOTES Don't tell anybody... anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.
"Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only thing I'd really like to be.”
I don't even know what I was running for - I guess I just felt like it.
