  4. Current Versions vs. Future Versions • SoftLab/Mic 4.5.4.30.2  4.5.5.41.7 • SoftBBK 25.3.1.0.13  25.5.5.0.25 • SoftID 2.6.0.7.14  2.6.0.9.10 • SoftAR 4.5.5.5.4  4.5.6.2.7 • TotalQC 1.0.3.9.7  1.0.5.4.2

  5. HIS SYSTEM

  6. What are we going to cover? • Capturing release notes • Navigating through those wonderful release notes • Briefly talk about Copy Setup Feature • Validation of Instruments • Special consideration Siemen’s Line • Tips on weathering the 4.5.5 storm

  7. Accessing Release Notes in STAR

  8. Release Notes in Softcomputer.com

  9. Choose Release Notes Query

  10. Select Product

  11. Select Versions

  12. Export to Excel

  13. Don’t Panic!!! • Ways to minimize! • The streamline procedures in the following section are optional at the user’s discretion. • Lets work this thru!

  14. 1021 lines!! • Remove Duplicates • now 791 lines • Remove Anomalies • now 338 lines • Remove Unnecessary notes • The upgrade system will not include SoftID • The upgrade system will not use robotics line • ‘How to’ work Excel sheets are at the end of the Power Point for anyone interested.

  15. Release Note Review – Smarter not Harder • Divide and conquer • By Departments or functions • Delegate • Deadlines

  16. Test Cases • Only print out test cases you need (these can be multiple pages). • Useful in developing your own test scripts.

  17. Release Notes Spreadsheet • Tabs used to delineate actions: • End Users – training super user • Yellow – for testing • Green – Passed validation • Barney – No clue what SCC is talking about or not relevant • Grey – Parking Lot items (Post go LIVE) • Different tabs associated with other modules

  18. Release Notes Spreadsheet • Hyperlink the test case and/or validation documentation • Insert screen shots

  19. Using Copy Setup in Upgrade • Useful in identifying differences in: • Setup • Settings and Definitions • Move setup changes • Clean up – ex. expiring comments • New build for new workflow – ex Checking flag 13a and 15 • Calculation updates • Adding new functionality – ex tracking

  20. Powerful Tool • Experienced SCC Users • Trained in File Build • Controlled number of Users – Security settings • Can be a dangerous tool • There is no UN-DO!!

  21. What modules are included • This all depends on your Software version, CSF version, and applications • Lab • Micro • Security • AR, BB and other applications have their own tools or utilities

  22. Example of 4.5 • Client has BB, SoftBill Plus, LAB, MIC, PID, Reports, TQC

  23. Copy Setup Choices for SoftLab 4.5

  24. Compare Settings/Definition Report

  25. What files cannot be copied using Copy Setup? • Interfaces • Printers • Hosparams • Settings and Definitions

  26. Dive a little deeper? • Copy Setup Session – Tuesday at 4 pm or Thursday at 10:15

  27. Instrument Validation Game Plan • Keep it Simple, start off with basics. Prep Work, have the lab save samples. • Obtain samples that would Autoverify & StopPosting. • Establish communication with instrument. • Add samples as required by the lab demonstrating RAR, Reflex Test, Hold for dilutions. • Operation provides samples to run and a super user. • The super user will also go to the on-site training.

  28. Instrument Validation

  29. Instrument print out&Instant Reports

  30. Sign off documentation

  31. Siemens Aptio AutomationCentralink Datamanager

  32. Connecting Centralink simultaneously both LIVE and UPG • Open task with SCC requesting different ports address for each environment. • Have SCC associate communication ports based on the environment • Total 4 connections 2 Live & 2 UPG • Each LIS connection consists of 2 communication channels (inbound and outbound). • LIS connection is fully configurable and independent of others. • Sample ID’s setup by Soft have unique identifier's (barcode) distinguishing (Live and UPG) and also in Centralink. • Whenever CentralLink Datamanager interface is restarted you must restart Soft instrument interface also. • Otherwise if Soft interface side is NOT restarted  the port will automatically shutdown. Datamanager results will NOT cross to Soft and Orders from Soft will be lost ***. • 4.5.5.41 enhancement  Orders will be placed in “bucket” The bucket of orders will be transmitted to Datamanager upon establishing conductivity. • Unique to CentralLink.

  33. Live Server • TCENO – Order Isetup • LIS_Translator_In_1 • TCENR – Results • LIS_Translator_Out_1

  34. UPG Server • TCENO – Order Setup • LIS_Translator_Test_In_1 • TCENR – Results Setup • LIS_Translator_Test_Out_1

  35. Advantages with dual connection • Both LIVE and UPG interface are always on. • Instrument interface testing can be done without interruption. • Remote access to datamanager enables you to do “Dry Testing”. • Manually enter result upload to Soft.

  36. TIPS & Reminders • Windows 10 and 64 bit • Synchronization of Live to UPG environment • Track all changes placed in LIVE e.g. Hosparams /LONICS /Settings & Definitions / Instrument Translation Table • Clean up set up files expired canned message still active. • Freeze build in LIVE

  37. Embrace the LOVE of 4.5.5 Upgrade
