(Incorrectly listed as July 7-12 on AP website.) • URSI EM Theory Symposium, Ottawa, Canada, July 26-28 (Thursday-Saturday), 2007. • AP/URSI San Diego, CA, July 5-11, 2008. • URSI General Assembly, Chicago, IL, Aug. 9-16, 2008. USNC Commission-B Business Meeting Chair Report Dates for Boulder 2008 Meeting • One possible date is the week of Jan 3, but CU does not like this too much. • Another possible date is the following week, but Commission J does not like this too much.
USNC Commission-B Business Meeting Chair Report URSI EM Theory Symposium 2007 • Originally planned for Alexandria, Egypt, in May 2007. • Serious concerns were raised recently about the viability of this venue. • Lack of preparation among Local Organizing Committee • Concerns about Safety • International URSI consulted with its International Advisory Group (IAG) and the national commission-B chairs. • It was agreed that the venue will be changed to Ottawa, Canada, at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel, and held immediately following the 2007 URSI North America Radio Science Meeting (not joint with AP this year).
USNC Commission-B Business Meeting Chair Report 2007 URSI North American Radio Science Meeting • Participation in the 2007 North American Radio Science Meeting (Ottawa) is very important (we will not be meeting jointly with AP-S). We need to make a good showing to establish our percentage of the revenue split. • Special sessions for Commission B are being organized together with A. Petosa of the Canadian National Committee. John Volakis is confirming the session details with the organizers.

USNC Commission-B Business Meeting Chair Report Notes on 2008 URSI General Assembly • The deadline for submissions will be in Jan. 2008. • There will be a $1,000 student support available for students from U. S. institutions.
USNC Commission-B Business Meeting Chair Report Issue of Registration Rates • AP-S AdCom has decided that AP-S members will get a reduced registration rate at the annual IEEE AP-S/URSI Symposia. Should URSI offer any similar discount? • Possible proposal: If a person belongs to any commission of USNC, they will get the same rate as an AP-S member.
