Words of Inspiration for Mentors From the Mentor Teacher Orientation Dinner UHM Campus Center September 30, 2005
Be loving and patient
Never give up. • There’s always a way.
Trust the process!
Be Patient . . . . . the students are in the process of blooming.
Know you are appreciated!
No matter how bad today was, always believe that tomorrow will be better.
Whether you feel it or know it, even in times of chaos, you do make a difference!
Take one day at a time.
Enjoy learning (and teaching) with the student(s).
Trust is so important.
You are the continuity in teaching.
A second adult in your class doubles attention your students receive. • It benefits everyone. Mahalo!
Patience is a must; celebration is too!
You are making such a large difference in school community. • Keep up the good work!
When at first you don’t succeed, get new batteries!
Keep your perspective, • Your passion, • Your humor
You CAN do it along with curriculum mapping and committee work.
We inspire the future!
Listen, • listen, • listen!
You are one of a kind….. • Be yourself!
Like ripples in the pond, the life you touch will affect a thousand thereafter!
Be patient and professional in mentoring; • YOU ARE THE MODEL!
Aim for the moon, you may hit a star!
Part 2: • Drink H20
Be persistent and confident…. • The work you are doing is important.
Share! • It’s for the kids!
