  4. Mountain Ranges • There are many mountains ranges such as Ural, Tanna Ola, Sayan, Yabonovyy, Stanover, Cherskiy, Kolym, and Caucasus. • These mountains make traveling hard.

  5. Rivers • There is no use in using rivers for hydroelectric power, trading or transportation. • The rivers in Russia are the Volga, Irliysh, Ob, Lena, Kenisey, and Amue. • The longest river in Russia is the Volga.

  6. Islands • The islands in Russia are the Fronz Josef Land, Severnaya Zelma, New Siberian islands, Wrangle islands, Kuril islands and Sakhalin island.

  7. Lake Baikal • The biggest and oldest lake. Contains the most fresh water out of any lake. • Covered in ice from January to May. Reaches very cold temperatures such as -6 degrees Fahrenheit.

  8. Kamchatka Peninsula • Home to grizzly bears, reindeer, and wolves. • There are more than eighty volcanoes here. • The region is characterized by strong earthquake activity.
