What are Annotated Bibliographies used for? • Doctors: they don’t have time to read every article that comes out, so a focused annotated bibliography allows doctors to decide which articles need closer perusal. • Book Reviews for booksellers, librarians, and teachers • Teachers use them for lists of books on a particular topic • Video Gamers use them to decide which games they want to buy • Music fans use them to decide which albums to buy
How to create one • Find resources about your topic • Summarize the information in the article • Cite the article • Evaluate the article • Authority of the author • Does the article work for the intended audience • Is this an informative article or a waste of the reader’s time? Why? • How does this work relate to and illuminate your topic?
