Jets in p-Pb Pb Pb p p Pb p internal probe created early in collision • Jet suppression observed in Pb-Pb • Energy loss in QGP • What are the CNM effects from initial state? • If no CNM effect expect RpPb=1 • anti-kT jet finder • EMCal clusters ET>300 MeV • Charged tracks pT>150 MeV/c • EMCal clusters corrected for charged track contamination • Subtract UE background • Unfold detector response & background fluctuations Megan Connors p-Pb Jet spectra
Jet Spectrum • 5.02 TeVpp data reference not available • Use MC reference (PYTHIA, POWHEG) • Large uncertainty on the MC reference • Data/MC consistent with no CNM effects • Jet suppression observed in Pb-Pb due to medium • Consistent with Jet results shown by ATLAS & CMS Megan Connors p-Pb Jet spectra
Jet Structure R=0.2 • p-Pb ratio consistent with pp collisions at 2.76 TeV • No modification of the jet sub-structure observed R=0.4 Outlook • Incorporate EMCal triggered event sample to increasekinematic reach • Study of the multiplicity dependence • Measure full jet spectra with R=0.2 and 0.4 in pp collisions • at 7 TeV for interpolated reference for RpPb Need 5 TeV pp data!
