For ANY CRIME (was violent crime) now use the report filter function to see if: The pattern still holds if there is a teen mother, white vs not, and if mothers and father’s highest education was 12th grade and higher vs less? How about teen mother, nonwhite, and if mothers and father’s highest education was less than HS?
So it seems that, for ANY CRIME (was violent crimes) it doesn’t matter what the other variables are, not graduating HS seems to increase the percent chance of committing it
Now let’s see for which type of crime being a high school graduate matters the most in reducing it
Now a new pivot table to look at not just graduates, but if the grade attained matters? i.e. policy wise should we push for even more than HS? Or is 11th grade just as good? – efficiency wise?
Conclude • So HS grad seems to have an impact on crime across the board • Don’t skimp and let up at 11th grade, the grades leading up to 12 have higher crime across the board. • If going to aim for more education target should be 14 years or more (an associates) 13 seems to be worse than 12 – i.e. drop out of college
