  2. POPULATION AND CLIMATE • Population of Poland is 36.6 million people • Location of Poland from the US is in the east • The climate in Poland is continental,moderate,and changeable weather average temperature • Average annual rainfall: 600m

  3. GOVERNMENT • Republic • 16 provinces • Conventional long term is Republic of Poland • Constitution16 October 1997; adopted by the National Assembly 2 April 1997; passed by national referendum 23 May 1997 • Poland has the same kind of government as the united states.

  5. ECONOMY • Population below poverty line is 18.4% • Industries are machine building, iron and steel, coal mining, chemicals, shipbuilding, food processing, glass, beverages, textiles • exports to different countries are $32.4 billion • Polish currency are zloty per US dollar 3.99

  6. HISTORY OF POLAND • Great Poland was found in 966 BC • The tribes of southern Poland were untied to form Little Poland • In 1047, both Great Poland and Little Poland united and the rule of Casmir 1 the Restorer. • The president today is Aleksander Kwasniewski.

  7. LANDSCAPES • The landscape of Poland can be divided into three relief groups • The lowlands • The highlands • The mountains • The northern zone’s principal topographical characteristic is the North European plain

LAKE REGIONS • The belt immediately to the south of the coastal plains present, with its many lakes, a varied, hilly landscapes. • Wide river valleys divide the region into three parts: the Pomeranian Lakeland; the Masurain Lakeland, east of the lower Vistula; and the Great Poland Lakeland. • There are some 9,300 Polish lakes with areas of more than 1 hectare (2½ acres), and their total area is 1 percent of the national territory.

  11. ATTRACTIONS • One attractions is visiting the holy mountain. • The best time to be in Poland is at Christmas time and new years eve party’s. • In Poland new years eve is called it is Sylvester's, because the 31st of December is its (Sylvester's) namesday

  13. POLISH'S FOODS • Paczki (polish doughnut) is eaten with coffee. It is a sweet dessert. • Polish Pierogi (dumplings) this type of food has different varieties of stuffing. • Another sweet dessert is the poppy seed cake. This to can be eaten with coffee.

  15. WHY DID I PICK THIS COUNTRY? • I picked this country because my native language is polish. • I also picked this country because my parents were born in Poland. • I picked this country because it is an interesting country to see and live in.

  16. HAVE I EVER BEEN TO THIS COUNTRY? • Yes, I have been to Poland before • I have been all over Poland • In Poland, it is poor in some parts of the country. • In the high land’s of Poland there is a lot of mountains.

NAME THREE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE LEARNED • One thing I learned about Poland is I had learned about the land. • The second thing I learned from this project is that I found out more about my family Life and how many people were in my family • The third thing I have learned is the culture of Poland

ONE THING I WOULD CHANGE ABOUT MY COUNTRY WOULD BE? • One thing I would change is the lifestyles • The lifestyles in Poland right now is poor and not good houses have • I would give money to lower parts Poland for rebuilding some broken house and town. • I would give the homeless some nice clothes and a nice place to live

  19. WOULD I MOVE THERE? • I would probably move there because most of my dad’s side of the family is living in Poland still. • I would move there also because it has a nice place and is a quite place to be in and there is a lot of nice people living in Poland.
