Welcome!CLASH Science Team Meeting Heidelberg, Germany Oct 17 – 19, 2011
Project Status • 3 CLASH team science papers submitted (1 published, 2 in final review) • 4 CLASH team science papers in preparation (and probably more…) • 6 CLASH cluster data releases to public (via MAST) • 7 months since completion of first cluster, A383 (catalog release due!) • Cycle 8 Spitzer program (I-CLASH) observations underway • 11 clusters observed … 6 completely, all 11 done by end of 2011. We’re approaching our survey’s 50% milestone. • 11 months since start of CLASH survey • ~2 Terabytes of data on-line • Some new CLASH colleagues since Granada (apologies if I missed anyone): • BegoñaAscaso, Andrea Biviano, Justice Bruursema, Nicole Czakon, James Davies, Sunil Golwala, Claudio Grillo, Aaron Hoffer, Ulrike Kuchner, AmataMercurio, Anna Monna, John Moustakas, Sara Ogaz, Jack Sayers, Edward Villanueva • SN team: SaurabhJha, Brandon Patel, Curtis McCully

Meeting Objectives • Establish science milestones for next 12 – 18 months (papers + authors, new methods, etc.) • Enhance science paper output science push • Essential for NASA funding and demo power of MCTs • Develop plans to solve outstanding issues: • Requirements for photo-z accuracy • Achievement of required photo-z accuracy • Robust photometric measurements (variable PSF) • Replace A963?? Guide star issues. • (More) automated pipelines. • Establish milestones for delivery of data and science analysis tools to public. • Part of the expectations of a large MCT • Generate new ideas…What are we missing? • Meet your new colleagues. Have fun in Heidelberg.
