Becoming an Prosthetist/Orthotist Four year bachelor’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics and one year residency per discipline or Four year degree in another subject and six months to one year degree in O&P and one year residency per discipline NOTE: Current O&P educational requirements may transition to a master’s-level program in the future.
Becoming an Prosthetist/Orthotist According to the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA), the average salary for an American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) Certified orthotist/prosthetist is $89,334 (average of 15 years experience).
