  2. There are many ways of protecting your computer. • You can protect your computer by using software or using physical methods. In this presentation I will tell you how you can protect your computer. I will also tell you the types of anti virus software that you can use and what they do. Protecting your computer when on the internet is also important .

  3. What do viruses do to your computer? • As you Know there are many types of anti viruses software. Here are some examples: • Norton 360 • Kaspersky • McAfee • What these anti viruses will do is scan through your computer in the background to see if has caught any viruses. These anti viruses require daily updates which sometimes makes the computer slow.

  4. What would happen to your computer if you didn’t have a firewall? • Firewall is the software inside the computer that stops you from going on any malicious websites and Porn websites. It also stops other people from sending emails that may have viruses, and block internet traffic. To turn on your firewall go to control panel then go security protection. If we didn’t have a firewall on your computer, hackers, viruses, worms and Trojan horses can go on your computer.

  5. Internet Security • There have been many complaints from people that have said that their internet has been hacked and personal information have been taken ( bank details, address ETC ). In this situation make sure that your firewall is turn on, if you areusing wireless make sure that you have a password so people don’t use your internet, and send youyour cookies, it can tell you information about the website.

  6. Physical Protection • Using software isn’t the only way of protecting your computer or laptop. Burglars can break into your home or office and take your computer or laptop. Here are some tips to physically protect your computer. • Put your computer in a safe place where know one would think to look for it. • If you can afford, using a steel door can be helpful because it makes it more difficult for the person trying to break into your house or office.

  8. Password Protection • It’s important to have a password for your computer and to protect it because anyone can access your computer and put viruses on your computer, open and delete files. To protect your password you should: • Make it easy to remember so you won’t forget. • Only you should know the password so no one else should know.
