  3. What have we learnt? Football Stadiums cannot pay for themselves. 2. Football Stadiums cannot be used for anything else other than football.

  4. Athens 2004 21 out of 22 venues now lie abandoned

  5. Every Sports Club seems to share the same problem, • ‘How do we make more money?’ • There are probably only three answers : • 1. Increase gate receipts; • 2. Sell players; • 3. Increase revenue from Commercialism. • Here’s a new option to consider …… • 4. Diversify

  6. There are 5 ‘tried and tested’ revenue generators in every country throughout the world, that have a logical and practical fit within stadia: 1. Entertainment: Rock Concerts; Cabaret; Theatre; Comedy; Cinema 2. Exhibitions: Trade shows; Product Exhibitions; Supply Chain; Markets 3. Conference & Banqueting : Conventions; Product Launch; Company Presentations; Corporate Dinners; Weddings; Celebrations 4. Sport: Volleyball; Basketball; Tennis; Table Tennis; Darts; Boxing; Televised Away matches 5. Hotel & Tourism: To support all of the above events

  7. Don’t build a Stadium (Stand) that is used for football 25 days a year - which then tries to turn into a Commercial Leisure Building for the other 340 days of the year. Do build a Commercial Leisure Building that makes a profit 340 days a year - which then turns into a Football Stadium (Stand) on 25 occasions each year.

The first truly multi-purpose 30,000 capacity stadium, will be built in Ahmedabad Mega city, Gujarat, India. • In addition to a Stand that converts into an Arena, in the stadium complex there will be a 200 bed hotel, private members club, retail space, community centre, swimming pool, and sports academy.
