Mandates • Creative and innovative • Report and recommendations due June 30 2009 • In place by 2010 • In place by 2015
Collections Mandate • Recommend collections planning directions, priorities and actions. • Consider both the TFDL environment and the wider implications.
Learning Services Mandate • Identify learner needs and describe services to enable learning. • Develop learning services implementation plan for TFDL for opening day.
Media Technology Mandate • Develop a framework for using new and emerging technologies in the TFDL. • Assist teams to identify appropriate technologies. • Help define priorities for integrating new technology-based services with existing LCR services and technologies. • Look beyond 2010 to recommend a path for continued technology-based services over five years.
Outreach and Community Involvement Mandate • Identify and consult with possible partners to determine the potential for collaboration. • Recommend services and a potential governance structure. • Liaise with the other TFDL teams to ensure an integrated five year outreach and community program development plan is created.
Research Support Mandate • Determine research support needs, recommend and prioritize services. • Provide recommendations for virtual support using existing and emerging technologies. • Make all research collections visible and relevant. • Consider the scholarly communication process, and the dissemination and publication of the results of research at the University of Calgary.
Staffing Mandate • Review current staffing trends and practices both externally and internally. • Identify current and future skill sets. • Recommend future directions for staffing in the TFDL and LCR. • Recommend staff development opportunities • Diversity
