    2. Holstein Originated in the Netherlands. Dominate the country’s milk production industry. Either be black and white or red and white. Noted for unexcelled production, unequaled genetic merit, and adaptability to environmental changes.

    3. Jersey Originated on Island of Jersey. Milk contains 20% more protein and 15% more calcium than average milk. Light tan in color Most heat tolerant of all the European breeds. Have the longest productive herd life.

    4. Brown Swiss Originated in Alps of Switzerland. Produce high protein milk and extra milk in cows that are mature in years. Strongly attached, capacious udders. Solid Brown and medium length horns. Strong and rugged breed.

    5. Ayrshire Originated in Scotland, in the county of Ayrshire. Red and white in color. Strong rugged cattle that can adapt to all management systems. Breed noted for style and animation, good feet, good legs, and grazing ability.

    6. Guernsey Originated on Island of Guernsey. Noted for milk that is especially yellow in color and for golden yellow skin pigmentation. Fawn colored with white markings. Excellent grazers. Reach reproductive maturity at an early age.

    7. Milking Shorthorns Originated in England, a segment of the Shorthorn Beef Breed. Docile cows that efficiently produce large voulumes of nutritious milk. Red or white in color. Breeds competes favorably in either milk or beef production.
