Oblique Pictorials An Obliquepictorial starts with a straight-on view of one of the object’s faces, which is often the front face. Angled, parallel lines are drawn to one side to represent the object’s depth. The most common oblique angle is 45°. But 30°and 60° is used also. 45° 45° 45°
Three questions • What is a cube? • Is object 1 or object 2 the cube? • If object 1 and object 2 have a height and width of 5 inches what would you estimate the depth to be? 1 2

Oblique Pictorials There are three types of obliquepictorials:The differences are the depth • Oblique Cavalier – full depth • Oblique Cabinet – half depth • General Oblique – depth doesn’t matter • Height and width of the front face matter the most.
