VENUS Almost as big as Earth-called our twin Has a hostile atmosphere full of carbon dioxide gas that traps heat Venus gets so hot during its day that it metal would melt like ice cream (869 F) Has thick rapidly spinning clouds that hold heat in and reflect light back making it look like a star in the sky Constant thunderstorms Rotates in the opposite direction of all the other planets Named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty Takes 225 days to revolve around the Sun A day on Venus is 243 Earth days long No water or satellites

Has 11 rings made up of rocky chunks Day = 17 hours (rotation) Year = 84 Years (revolution) Named after Greek god of the sky Does not have a regular orbit. AXIS

NEPTUNE Not discovered until 1946 by telescope Scientists believe Neptune’s gravity is what pulls Uranus out of a regular orbit Named for the Roman god of the sea because of its color Also made up of hydrogen and helium and some methane to cause the blue color Neptune rotates (day) fully in 16 hours, but its atmosphere and clouds take two hours longer. That is unique. Has dark colored storms, one the size of Earth and is the windiest planet in solar system Takes 165 years to revolve or make a year Neptune is thought to have a layer of liquid water, methane and ammonia that changes to solid ice at times. Has 8 satellites and 4 rings
