2. Location Hopi Indians live in Arizona on top of many mesas. They also live in other southwestern regions.
3. Names of Individual Tribes The Hopi lives in the southwestern regions of North America. They mainly live in Arizona, but also live in Mexican regions.
4. Climate & Landforms The climate in the winter is usually around thirty degrees Fahrenheit. Springs are usually around forty-five degrees Fahrenheit. In the summer, it is usually around ninety-five degrees. During fall, it is usually around fifty degrees.
Landforms in the Hopi area are rock formations, like mesas. The rocks are shaped different ways from erosion.
5. Foods The main Hopi food is corn. It is considered sacred. Hopis also tend to other crops such as beans, squash, melons, pumpkins, and peaches.
6. Clothing Hopi Indians did not wear much because of the warm climate in their area. Hopi people wove clothing a lot. Girls wore special dresses during sacred ceremonies. Modern day Hopis wear dresses that they wove or bought.
7. Shelter/Homes Hopi homes were made of adobe clay. They did not have any doors or windows on the bottom floor to prevent break-ins. Instead, they had a ladder leading up to a hole in the roof, which they climbed through. Once inside, they pull up the ladder so their home is like a fort.
8. Transportation Most Hopis walk if it is a short trip around the village. If they were making a long-term trip, they would ride horseback.

10. Art Most Hopi artwork consists of pottery with an arrangement of different designs. They also made jewelry from shells and rocks. A famous Hopi artist is Nampeyo. Nampeyo makes pottery, woven things, and jewelry.
11. Hopi Traditions When a new Hopi baby is born, it is given a very special blanket along with a perfect ear of corn. Since corn is a special Hopi crop, they believe it will enrich the babys life with good fortune.
