Wilton House First Wilton House was a nunnery. But under Henry VIII, who founded the Anglican Church the nunnery was dissolved. He gave this house to his friend Will Herbert, the Earl of Pembroke, who pulled it down and rebuilt it in 1544. Now it’s the home of the 17th Earl of Pembroke. The house contains various old master paintings, furniture and classical sculptures; you can also enjoy a walk along the River Nadder or through the Old English Rose Garden.
Stonehenge The monument you see today is the remains of a prehistoric temple that was in use about 3500 years ago. Its origin is even older. Some facts about Stonehenge:-> 100 m in diameter-> The larger stones in the circle are Sarsen Stones brought from the Marlborough Downs 30 km away.-> The smaller stones, known as the Bluestones, are from Wales - 385 km away. *fascinating* *Pleasesmile*
