Today we will… • Identify homework board and write down today’s assignment • Talk about beginning of class routine • Go over some basic rules and procedures • Fill in an index card with information for the teacher • Complete a “get acquainted” activity • Look at some of the things we will do this year. • Start homework
EVERY DAY, at the beginning of English class… • Report to your seat as soon as you enter the classroom • Once you are seated, copy the homework from the homework board into your agenda. (Do this now.) • Begin reading from an I.R. (independent reading) book unless/until the teacher gives you other instructions.
Basic Classroom Rules • Arrive fully prepared and on time. • Remain in your seat at all times unless you have permission from your teacher to get up. • Raise your hand and wait to be called on before speaking. • To leave the class, you must have a pass • Refrain from touching or disturbing others and/or their belongings. • Do not throw anything in the classroom.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY… TREAT EVERYONE WITH COURTESY AND RESPECT!
