The definition of national minorities Minority groups include sociological groups, individuals, nationals of a state, citizens distinguished by their ethnic origin, language, national or religion affiliation.
Why do ethnic minorities have special rights, when there are human rights?! Special rights of minorities were added to protect them, these are groups that are usually separated from the society. But also to help them ensure the preservation of the individuality, nationality and culture. The aim of the special minority rights is to ensure equal treatment to members of this group in society.
THE RIGHT TO EQUALITY IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS Provides national minorities further guarantee of the same terms to participate in public affairs, to take part in education, employment wealth and political power.
LAW AND PRESERVATION OF INDENTITY 1. The right to express, preserve and develop ethnic, religious and cultural particularities 2. The right to use minority symbols in public places 3. The right to establish private educational institutions 4. The right to establish their own public notice 5. The right to use their language and script 6. The right to education in their own language 7. The right to be informed in their own language 8. The right to use their language name 9. The right to local names, street names, towns written in their own language 10. The right to state and local authorities to conduct proceedings in their language
THE RIGHT TO ASSOCIATION AND COOPERATION WITH FELLOW Article 6 Persons belonging to national minorities have the right freely to establish and maintain peaceful relations within the republic of Serbia and abroad with whom they share an ethnic, cultural, language, and religious identity, or a common cultural heritage.
