  2. Root Canal Treatment A root canal is the cosmetic dentistry procedure which is used to repair and save a badly infected tooth. This procedure firstly removes the damaged area of the tooth and then performs cleaning, filling and sealing it.

  3. What to Expect During a Root Canal If you think you need a root canal, then immediately visit your dentist. There are a number of steps that occur over a few dental clinic visits.

  4. Steps that occur During Root Canal: X-ray – A dentist firstly will take X-rays or examine existing X-rays to check where the decay is located. Anesthesia – After X-rays, local anesthesia is administered to the affected tooth. A Root Canal is less painful as compared to filling.

  5. Steps that occur During Root Canal: Pulpectomy – In this step, the dentist will remove the infected part of the tooth. Filling – Finally the dentists filled the roots of decayed tooth by using gutta-percha material and sealed it with cement.
