2. About A Perfect Foundation A Perfect Foundation is a non-profit organization that is founded by the Perfect Wave Surf Experience. This is a group of surfers from Australia who are dedicated to contributing to the Mentawai island communities which have provided them with the opportunities to enjoy incredible surfing experiences in and around the islands.

All about A Perfect Foundation A Perfect Foundation has just one central aim-empowering communities in the Mentawai islands through skill acquisition training programs and other educational initiatives that will help the community to support and sustain itself economically while also giving them the skills and capabilities required to adapt successfully in a rapidly changing world. The Mentawai Education Centre founded by the foundation makes a difference to the local community by imparting knowledge in different subjects. Through the programs conducted at the centre, the children and adults on the island gain proficiency in English, which enables them to communicate more confidently with the tourists that throng the area. It also helps them to sustain themselves economically and look out for their own best interests in a world that is becoming increasingly competitive for natural resources on the island.

5. A Perfect Foundation also tackles Indonesia environmental issues through a variety of environmental programs. They provide clean water to the island community that helps in ensuring their health. The free water filters that were distributed to the community through the Foundation not only helped in ensuring clean water to the families, but also helped to free them from the time, resources, and effort required to collect water and boil it before drinking it. The time that was freed from this activity could better be spent on other activities that improved their education, skill development, or other economic activities. The Mentawai Education and Conservation Centre also does its bit to clean up the islands from the plastic waste that inevitably gets littered everywhere. They take this one step further by recycling the plastic waste which goes a long way in educating the local population of the benefits of recycling other waste too. A comprehensive waste management plan has been put into place, with the collaboration of local government agencies and community leaders, which aims to clean up the island and recycle the waste for more productive purposes.
