  3. Past 2 years of work • Aug. 2009 – Org. Review of CCI • Sept. 2009 – Presentation at Ontario Contact • Nov. 2009 – Presenter/Performer Workshop – Planning the 1st Town Hall • Jan. 2010 – First Town Hall on Pluralism at UTSC • June 2010 – Facilitated dialogue at CDF • June 2010 – Town Hall with Magnetic North and Coalition of Performing Artists/Kitchener-Waterloo • June 2010 – First Workshop on Audience Develoment • Sept. 2010 – Culture Days with Coalition of Performing Artists

Nov. 2010 – Town Hall and Audience Development Workshops with CAPACOA • Nov. 2010 – Third Workshop on Audience Development – particular focus on working with Aboriginal communities and info-gathering in immigrant communities • Jan. 2011 – 4th Workshop on Audience Development – direct dialogue between presenters and performers • Feb. 2011 – Sample Values and Benefits training/interviews • March 2011 – 5th Workshop on Audience Development focusing on Values and Benefits studies in partnership with UTSC • Quarterly meetings of Roundtable • 10 Newsletters and list-serve over 300 • Web presence - https://sites.google.com/site/cppamo/home

Results of the work • The idea is accepted/key partnerships developed – good numbers, resources, artists, presenters, recognition by national and regional organizations, e.g., MagNorth, CAPACOA, Coalition of Performing Artists, UTSC • Credibility with ethno-racial and Aboriginal artists • Workshops provide common space for dialogue – issue identification/problem solving • Building relationships between presenters and performers to lead to long-term sustainable change • Partnerships with presenting and other fields for future project implementation

Needs of Performers/Presenters • Awareness, Understanding, Relationship, Action (AURA) • For Performers • Organizational development/governance • Performing in venues across Ontario • Familiarizing audiences with their art • For Presenters • Community engagement/audience development • Staying on top of changing demographics and art forms • Cultural/curatorial competence • For Presenters/Performers – Building relationships • Workshops, dialogue • Pilot projects

  7. Future directions • Working in 4 geographic regions: Ottawa/Kingston, GTA East. GTA West, Kitchener-Waterloo/Guelph • Each area with its own Roundtable and presenters involved • Create links with local communities through schools, local immigrant services partnerships, etc. • Each region convene 3 workshops per year and 1 Town Hall • 4 Province-wide Town Halls involving representatives of each region, including Roundtable members – orientation, assessment, setting up evaluation and reviewing it

  8. Involving Artists/Presenters and Future Partners • Roundtable members: e.g, COBA, Sampradaya, Fujiwara/CANAsian, Little Pear, Native Earth, danceImmersion, Kaha:wi, WhyNot?, N. Dett, Obisidian, b-current, centre for indigenous theatre, menakathakker, reelAsian, Diasporic Dialogues, • CCI members and others, e.g., CAPACOA, MagNorth, UTSC • Panel presentations and performances at workshops and Town Halls • Direct discussions with presenters on pilot projects – community engagement, and, co-commissioning performances • Future partnerships: CAPACOA, CDF, CCI, Coalition of Performing Artists, Toronto NAN, CARFAC, MANO, IMAA, CanDance, Prologue, OAG, PACT
