XXII International Symposium on Nuclear Electronics & Computing ____________________________________________________________ Abstract A new Nuclotron Beam Intensity Monitoring Subsystem (NBIMS) is based on a Parametric Current Transformer (manufacturer: BERGOZ instrumentation). It allows Nuclotron beam current and intensity monitoring correlated with the main magnetic field signal (sampling rate is 100 kSamples/s). Common structure, electronic equipment, software and first results of the Subsystem are described in this report.

The NBIMS properly works in 108…1012 intensity range for proton and deuteron beams.

XXII International Symposium on Nuclear Electronics & Computing ____________________________________________________________ NBIMS software: Remote Data Viewing Remote viewing of the data is carried out by means of sockets technology via IP-network. Data transmission from the Server to multiple Clients is realized on “Publish-Subscribe” model. The Client sends to the Server a special request for subscription to NBIMS information. The Server either includes this Client to the “mailing list” or rejects the client request. After acquisition and processing of new data the Server dispatches it to all "subscribers”.
XXII International Symposium on Nuclear Electronics & Computing ____________________________________________________________ NBIMS software: the Client Modes Extended Mode - the data with maximum time resolution is transferred from the Server. Sampling interval: 10 µs Data volume: ~ 10 Mbytes It is used for the machine precise tuning and investigations. In the Simple Modeonly 30 Kbytes of the datais transferred . It is sufficient for representation of an overall chart of the accelerator cycle.
XXII International Symposium on Nuclear Electronics & Computing ____________________________________________________________ First results The NBIMS was successfully used during two last runs of the Nuclotron. The Subsystem has proved as a powerful tool for accelerator tuning. Also some important machine investigations such as two step acceleration mode experiment, testing of the adiabatic capture equipment and energy evacuation system were carried out with help of the NBIMS.
