Overview • Salary Encumbrances for some Business Units are currently maintained in legacy using EPRQ • Detail payroll, salary liquidations, and summary fringe data now flow thru the legacy accounting system into SFS. • We are developing a web-based replacement for EPRQ for fiscal year 2003 salary encumbrances. • Functionality is modeled after EPRQ. • Target date for production is Spring 2002. • In the new system, detail is maintained in a subsidiary ledger; summary is posted to SFS General Ledger. • Drilldown to detail will be provided in WISDM.

  4. Salary Encumbrance Development Status • The target date for integration testing by UW System Admin is Feb. 1 • The target date for user acceptance testing is Mar. 1 • Queries into encumbrance detail (similar to INQR, GENR, and GENT) will be developed in WISDM.

  5. Handles all appointment types except Student Requires an appointment in IADS Uses PeopleSoft chartfields Records encumbrance detail in SFD/SE tables Operates within WISDM framework. Users authorized by one or more “UDDS” levels Users can create, adjust, cancel, transfer, and reopen encumbrance records Some legacy functions have been deferred Salary Encumbrance Concepts
