  3. What is media? • Media is a marriage of content and container

  7. Problem 1 • Souvenirs on shelves, media in closets

  8. Problem 2 • Clunky and antisocial methods for sharing travel media

  9. Project Vision • A system that brings media into the social space of group travel and the personal environment of the home

  12. Triptotem • A small digital storage device with a distinctive shape • Combines physical souvenir with digital media

  13. Sharespace • A portable, flexible, touch-screen display • Allows travelers to organize and share their media while traveling

  14. Sharespace • Large (30 in / 76 cm) circular format allows multiple people to sit around the device Personal areas Public area Group area

  15. Sharespace: personal areas • Travelers use personal areas to view and organize the media in their Triptotem

  16. Sharespace: public area • Travelers use the central public area to exchange media with others and to build collective groups of media

  17. Sharespace: group area • At the center of Sharespace, travelers can place media into a group area where it’s viewable by everyone, even passers-by
