  3. Type of Drugs • Ecstasy is classified as a stimulant. • It is called 3-4-methylenedioxymethampheta-mine. (MDMA) • It is a synthetic drug with amphetamine-like and hallucinogenic properties. • Ecstasy is similar to the stimulant methamphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline. • It is a combination of LSD and speed. • It does not cause hallucinations like LSD and speed.

  4. Category • This drug is illegal. • Not a prescription drug. • Not an OTC drug either. • If you are caught using, selling, or buying it, you will be arrested.

She dies from a heart stroke and heart failure. • In US alone, more than 12 million people have taken ecstasy. • Usually taken by young adults and teens. • Sold at bars, underground nightclubs, and all night parties. • A single dose of Ecstasy lasts 3-4 hours which creates enjoyment of physical activities and provides a rush of energy.
