  1. Report from Oxford on bus tapes Roy Wastie Roy Wastie AUW

  2. Tape Screen Measurements • Motivation is to reduce radiation length without compromising the detector performance. • Understand the effect of the screen. • Solid • Hatched 150 µm mark/space • Previous tests not conclusive presented at AUW DESY 2010 • Difficult to measure the noise • Does the noise measurement have some faction of direct coupled signal from the injection source. • Design change of test piece to make a better measurement. • Better grounding and shielding • Doubled screened cables Roy Wastie AUW

  3. Screen Test Piece Aggressor Injection Layer Shield 35 µm Cu Signal injection point Signal termination in 50Ω to ground Roy Wastie AUW

  4. Screen Test Piece Shield Layer Shield area 35 µm Cu Roy Wastie AUW

  5. Screen Test Piece Pickup Layer Pickup area 35 µm Cu Roy Wastie AUW

  9. Screen test Circuit LeCroy Scope Function Generator Shield 50Ω Aggressor trace 100KHz to 100MHz Roy Wastie AUW

  10. Screen test conclusion • Results look plausible. • Further investigation using COMSOL to simulate the screen setups. • Measure LCR in the screen • Would like to make a stavelet with modules to test the different shield types and measure the detector noise directly in the modules. Roy Wastie AUW

  11. Prototype tapes • We are now able to make tapes with cut-outs. • Plating to do. • Layer Alignment need further checks. • May need some scaling • Jig to holder layers while pressing • Quick turn around 3 days Roy Wastie AUW

  12. Cutter Video Roy Wastie AUW

  13. DCDC Stave Tape Roy Wastie AUW

  17. Power Tape Layout Roy Wastie AUW

  18. DCDC work to do • Design Layout for DCDC power tape. • Get AlN for heat spreader. • Get DCDC PCBs assembled from CERN. Roy Wastie AUW
