Unity demands Submission • Phil 2:1-2 – Therefore if there is any consolation [exhortation] in Christ, if any comfort [consolation] of love, if any fellowship [partnership] of the Spirit, if any affection [sympathy] & mercy [compassion], 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

  3. Unity demands Submission • Phil 2:3-4 –Let nothing be done through selfish ambition [faction, strife] or conceit [a cry of incitement], but in lowliness of mind [humility] let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out [take aim, regard] not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Exhortation, comfort, fellowship, affection & mercy are an outgrowth of UNITY, & UNITY occurs when we submit to one another.
