    2. Characterization study of the Ocmulgee River In my research project I intended to map the wetlands of the Ocmulgee River. This project will give a better understanding of the complexity of the Ocmulgee floodplain. The Ocmulgee River is composed of many inland wetlands. The map I created will give a characterization of the Ocmulgee River. Much of the land is preserved, however a lot of it is not. With more and more industries coming to Macon, the Ocmulgee River floodplain will undergo many changes if it is not protected.
